Privacy at Ward

Ward is a curated collection of design, websites, apps and components at ward.so. You can browse it without an account and without being tracked. This page lists everything Ward collects, why, and how to remove it.

  1. 01Browsing

    Browsing needs no account. Cloudflare, which hosts Ward, processes your IP address and request details to deliver pages, stop abuse and apply rate limits. Ward's error logs on Cloudflare keep request details for up to 7 days so problems can be fixed. Beyond that, Ward keeps no record of the pages you view unless you allow analytics.

  2. 02Analytics, only if you allow it

    When you first visit, Ward asks whether it may count useful actions and return visits. If you decline, nothing is recorded.

    If you allow it, Ward sets a random visitor ID in the ward_visitor cookie for 30 days and records events such as opening an item, following a link to its source, saving a reference or copying a component. Events never include your email, your searches or private content. Admins and bots are not counted. Events are deleted after 90 days.

    Your choice is kept in the ward_analytics_consent cookie for one year. Clear your cookies to be asked again.

  3. 03Your account

    You sign in with Google, GitHub or X through Clerk, which stores your name, email address, profile picture and the provider account it came from. Ward stores your Clerk user ID alongside your saves, collections, submissions and email preferences.

    Clerk sets the cookies that keep you signed in. They are needed for sign-in and are removed when you sign out.

  4. 04Work you submit

    When you submit a link or media, Ward stores it privately until a curator reviews it. To classify and describe submissions, Ward sends their text and images to Jev (TypeSafe) and Cloudflare Workers AI. Published work is credited to its creator; your account is not shown publicly.

  5. 05The weekly email

    If you subscribe, Ward keeps your email address, when you confirmed and your subscription state. Emails are sent through Resend. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also leave from the newsletter page or your settings. After you unsubscribe, or if your address bounces or reports spam, Ward keeps that record so you are not emailed again unless you subscribe again. Creating an account never subscribes you.

  6. 06On your device

    Your theme and gallery column choice are saved in your browser's local storage (ward-theme, ward-columns). They never leave your device.

  7. 07Who processes your data

    • Cloudflare: hosting, storage, media delivery, security and Workers AI.
    • Clerk: sign-in and account storage.
    • Resend: sending the weekly email.
    • TypeSafe (Jev): classifying and describing submitted and curated work.

  8. 08Deleting your data

    Delete your account from Settings. Ward immediately removes your saves, collections, preferences and unpublished submissions, unsubscribes your email and deletes your Clerk account. Work that was already published stays, credited to its creator, without a link to you.

    For a copy of your data, a correction, or removal of your work from Ward, email hey@ward.so. Creators whose work appears on Ward can ask for different credit or removal the same way.

  9. 09Changes

    If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes are announced on this page before they apply.
